With over 20 years of industry experience, James Harvey has built Harvey Electrical around practical expertise, technical excellence and long-term client relationships.

Beginning his career on the tools before progressing into senior technical management, James has developed a comprehensive understanding of commercial electrical and building services delivery. His experience spans commercial refurbishment, infrastructure upgrades, live operational environments and technically demanding projects across a wide range of sectors.

Today, James leads Harvey Electrical with a collaborative, commercially focused approach, working closely with clients and project teams to develop practical, buildable solutions that deliver successful project outcomes.
1979
Foundations in Commercial Shopfitting
Steve Harvey established Harvey Electrical, building his reputation delivering electrical installations within the commercial shopfitting sector. These early projects laid the foundations for over 45 years of commercial project delivery.
1985
Developing Commercial Expertise
Working as Electrical Manager for Whittles Shopfitting, Steve gained valuable experience leading large-scale commercial projects before returning to Harvey Electrical with enhanced project management and technical expertise.
1987
Expanding Through Retail Projects
Harvey Electrical secured contracts with major retail developers including Arcadia Group and Colton Developments, establishing a reputation for delivering coordinated electrical installations across national retail environments.
1991
Delivering Landmark Commercial Projects
As Harvey Electrical Limited, the business expanded into high-profile commercial projects including Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted Airports, Harrods, H. Samuel, H&M, Whitbread and Punch Taverns, strengthening its expertise in commercial fit-outs and live operational environments.
1996
Investing in the Future
James Harvey joined the business as an apprentice, developing hands-on experience delivering major commercial refurbishments, airport projects and national retail programmes.
2000
Expanding Commercial Capability
Strategic growth and acquisitions strengthened Harvey Electrical's commercial portfolio, securing long-term partnerships with clients including Orbit Developments and the Howard de Walden Estate, while expanding into integrated fire and security systems.
2005

Harvey Electrical continued to deliver complex commercial projects for recognised clients including Harrods, Millbank Tower, Arena Offices, Howard de Walden Estate and leading commercial contractors, strengthening its expertise across office refurbishments, healthcare and prestigious occupied buildings.

Recognising the growing demand for low-carbon technologies, Harvey Electrical expanded into renewable energy solutions, integrating sustainable technologies alongside its commercial electrical services.
